Thermo-Treated Wood
We have some plans for widening up our business, and by 2010 are going to install the Bikos maschinery (http://www.termoderevo.ru/main/) for thermo-treated wood production.
Major qualities:
- stable product geometry in usage, irrespective temperature and moisture changes
- ability of getting forms of exotic and antique wood from cheap species
- ability of getting any tints from light-yellow to nearly black for any species and for depth of the whole product
- finishing of sauna, bathhouse, swimming pool, bathroom, moorage and other water-related objects,
- flooring (parquet, parquet board, freize, floor board), including different-colored and warm floors
- production of doors, windows and other constructive products , where geometric stabilization is important
Products made from thermo-treated wood can be used in all climate conditions without limitation. The products do not require anti-stain treatment, impregnation, rendering, coloring. They are beautiful originally.
Hydrothermic treatment highlights and reveal the beauty of natural wood and makes it even more attractive.
Thermo-treated wood produced on Bikos machinery is one of the highest quality today, because the special technology saves wood from peculiar furfural smell, typical for thermo-treated wood, produced on other equipment.
In addition, thermo-treated can be any wood species of any thickness-expensive and cheap species, conifers and larch, exotic, sunken logs, burls, veneer. The special production technology accentuate not only faster drying process and equilibrium moisture content of 3-5%, but also geometric stabilization.
The main hydrothermic technology achievement is getting thermo-treated wood with given characteristics as a result: color, durability, biological stability, etc. Therefore every customer depending on own purposes can choose the exact thermo-treated wood type. Thanks to specific treatment modes, we can get material with an optimized range of application.
In the table below are common consumer and producing requirements for thermo-treated wood.

Generally doesn’t differ from sawing usual dry timber. Using equipment with less power-capacity but with quick teeth is recommended. The durability of hard-alloy blades will increase.
Hard-alloy cutters and increased rotation speed have given the best results. The cutters wear out more slowly.
It’s obligatory to use respirator, saw dust is drier and finer.
It is not recommended to use water-based glue.
Drill holes preliminarily or use self-tapping screws. Nail with the help of pneumatic tool.
Doesn’t differ from usual timber, but cover and make look better.
Launch of thermo-treated wood production is planned on March 2010.
Initial volume of thermo-treated wood production – 200 m3
Tentative thermo-treated wood price - 844 USD/ m3
At present time we are waiting for preliminary orders.
Our goal is to find permanent clients and produce thermo-treated wood to their orders.
Waiting for your kind inquiries.
